How to Toast Sesame Seeds

Sesame seeds are  important in Japanese cooking. They are not just for garnish or accent. We use them for sauces and dressings as well. Now I am going to show you how to toast sesame seeds (Iri goma) a frying pan. It is easy!

Sesame seeds ensure long life and  keep dark hair ( I am trying! ). Rich in high quality protein and cholesterol free fat. High vitamin and fiber content.

 

Ingredients

  • White or black sesame seeds

Method

  1. Put the sesame seeds in the frying pan and  turn on the heat. You do not need any oil.

2. Start toast middle heat and mix continuously.

3. When sesame seeds are light brown they are ready to use. Now you can smeIl the aromatic sesame fragrance! If you do not use them immediately,  store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer when they cool down to room temperature.
